William Elderkin Leffingwell (1855-1927) — also known as William E. Leffingwell — of Dansville, Livingston County, N.Y.; Watkins (now Watkins Glen), Schuyler County, N.Y. Born in Aurora, Cayuga County, N.Y., July 10, 1855. Son of Dr. Elisha Leffingwell (physician); father of William Murray Leffingwell (who married Margaret Bowlby Leffingwell). Democrat. Candidate for Presidential Elector for New York, 1904; member of New York state assembly from Schuyler County, 1909; delegate to Democratic National Convention from New York, 1920. Member, Freemasons; Sons of the Revolution. Died October 12, 1927. Interment at Glenwood Cemetery, Watkins Glen, N.Y.
William Murray Leffingwell (b. 1896) — of Watkins Glen, Schuyler County, N.Y. Born in New York, New York County, N.Y., June 6, 1896. Son of William Elderkin Leffingwell and Mary (Walsh) Leffingwell; married, February 26, 1919, to Margaret Elizabeth Bowlby. Democrat. Candidate for Presidential Elector for New York, 1920. Episcopalian. Member, Freemasons; American Legion; Rotary. Presumed deceased. Burial location unknown.
Margaret Bowlby Leffingwell (d. 1980) — also known as Margaret B. Leffingwell; Margaret Elizabeth Bowlby — of Watkins Glen, Schuyler County, N.Y. Married, February 26, 1919, to William Murray Leffingwell (son of William Elderkin Leffingwell). Democrat. Alternate delegate to Democratic National Convention from New York, 1932, 1936. Female. Died in Washington, D.C., July 19, 1980. Interment at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.
