Father of Carol Griffith Williams (who married John Patrick Williams). Mayor of Butte, Mont., 1959-64. Died in Butte, Silver Bow County, Mont., November 13, 1972. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Butte, Mont.
John Patrick Williams (b. 1937) — also known as Pat Williams — of Helena, Lewis and Clark County, Mont.; Missoula, Missoula County, Mont. Born in Helena, Lewis and Clark County, Mont., October 30, 1937. Married 1965 to Carol Griffith (daughter of Vern D. Griffith). Democrat. School teacher; member of Montana state house of representatives, 1967-69; executive assistant to U.S. Rep. John Melcher, 1969-71; U.S. Representative from Montana, 1979-97 (1st District 1979-93, at-large 1993-97); defeated in primary, 1974. Catholic. Member, Elks. Still living as of 2009.

Carol Griffith Williams (b. 1943) — also known as Carol Griffith — of Montana. Born in Butte, Silver Bow County, Mont., February 3, 1943. Daughter of Vern D. Griffith; married 1965 to John Patrick Williams. Member of Montana state house of representatives, 1999-. Female. Still living as of 1999.
