John Kee (1874-1951) — of Bluefield, Mercer County, W.Va. Born in Glenville, Gilmer County, W.Va., August 22, 1874. Son of Jasper Newton Kee and Louisa (Campbell) Kee; married, September 7, 1926, to Maude Elizabeth Frazier; father of James Kee. Democrat. Lawyer; member of West Virginia state senate 7th District, 1923-26; U.S. Representative from West Virginia 5th District, 1933-51; defeated, 1928; died in office 1951. Episcopalian. Member, Elks; Kiwanis; Knights of Pythias; Moose; Odd Fellows. Died in Washington, D.C., May 8, 1951. Interment at Monte Vista Park Cemetery, Bluefield, W.Va.

Maude Elizabeth Kee (1895-1975) — also known as Elizabeth Kee; Maude Etta Simpkins; Maude Elizabeth Frazier; Mrs. John Kee — of Bluefield, Mercer County, W.Va. Born in Radford, Va., June 7, 1895. Daughter of John Jesse Wade Simpkins and Cora French Hall Simpkins; married to Alan Frazier (divorced); married, September 7, 1926, to John Kee; mother of James Kee. Democrat. U.S. Representative from West Virginia 5th District, 1951-65. Female. Episcopalian. Member, Daughters of the American Revolution. Died in Bluefield, Mercer County, W.Va., February 15, 1975. Interment at Monte Vista Park Cemetery, Bluefield, W.Va.

James Kee (1917-1989) — of Bluefield, Mercer County, W.Va. Born in Bluefield, Mercer County, W.Va., April 15, 1917. Son of John Kee and Maude Elizabeth Kee; married, September 7, 1939, to Helen Lee Chapman. Democrat. Served in the U.S. Army Air Force in World War II; U.S. Representative from West Virginia 5th District, 1965-73; defeated in primary, 1972. Episcopalian. Member, American Legion; Elks. Died in Montgomery, Fayette County, W.Va., March 11, 1989. Interment at Monte Vista Park Cemetery, Bluefield, W.Va.
