Sydney Parham Epes (1865-1900) — of Blackstone, Nottoway County, Va. Born in Virginia, 1865. Cousin of James Fletcher Epes and William Bacon Oliver. Democrat. Member of Virginia state legislature; U.S. Representative from Virginia 4th District, 1897-1900; died in office 1900. Died in 1900. Interment at Lake View Cemetery, Blackstone, Va.

William Bacon Oliver (1867-1948) — also known as William B. Oliver — of Tuscaloosa, Tuscaloosa County, Ala. Born in Eutaw, Greene County, Ala., May 25, 1867. Son of William C. Oliver and Lizzie S. (Whitehead) Oliver; cousin of Sydney Parham Epes. Democrat. Lawyer; U.S. Representative from Alabama 6th District, 1915-37; delegate to Democratic National Convention from Alabama, 1924 (member, Credentials Committee). Presbyterian. Member, Freemasons; Knights Templar; Shriners; Phi Beta Kappa; Knights of Pythias; Elks; Woodmen. Died in 1948. Interment at Eutaw Cemetery, Eutaw, Ala.
